Fringe1I can’t believe it is already July 17th…what happened to the summer! I feel as if I just got home from college last week, but it’s been two months. Am I fully unpacked yet? Nope…but in my defense I moved houses a few weeks ago, so you could say my procrastination was somewhat helpful. Better yet, I’ll be all ready to move back to Boston come August.

This summer has been full of so many adventures already. For starters, I moved houses. It’s bittersweet– saying goodbye to the place I grew up but I guess I already did that when I moved away to school last year. I’m in love with the new house, except it now takes me an hour to get to my internship in the city in the morning and I’m convinced it’s haunted…but shh keep that on the down low.

About my internship– I absolutely love it.  I’m working at Cleveland Magazine this summer, but I wouldn’t call it work because it’s been so much fun. Going downtown almost everyday has showed me how awesome CLE has become . The city has inspired me to start sharing my favorite Cleveland finds on Tres Chic, so if you are wondering where you can find the city’s most delicious and gigantic cupcakes or even the coolest graffiti around town, keep your eyes open on the blog. I’ve learned so many secrets about the publishing world that I will put to use when I start a fashion magazine at school this fall (if I get approved). I’m just taking one step at a time, and hopefully one step closer to Vogue (hehe I wish). A few of my stories have already been published in the CM, so check out the July and August issue to see my work (clevelandmagazine.com). You can find my stories on beauty, arts, human trafficking, the Cavs, and the RNC.

For this outfit, I paired a black v-neck crop top with my new favorite 3 x 1 fringe jeans that I found on Moda Operandi. I don’t know if they are supposed to be high-waisted but I’m short (yay 5’2″) so that’s how they fit me. I was a little nervous about splurging at first because fringe can be a fad, but I’ve got a hunch that these fringe jeans are going to be making a statement for quite awhile. My criteria for splurging: the piece must be a staple and I must be able to see myself wearing it in five years. Lucky for me and the fringe jeans, I could check yes to both. If you know me, then you know high heels are a hazard for me (#klutz4life) so I kept the heel to a minimum with black suede Steve Madden sandals. Speaking of being a klutz, I just got my 7th concussion…. while doing yoga. I must have set a concussion record by now. I was practicing my back walkover for a flow transition (while laughing) and I fell on my head. Word of advice: don’t laugh while doing a back walkover.
